| Nonprofit and Foundation Advocacy Blog: |
Hosted by the Alliance for Justice, this blog focuses on issues in the nonprofit world. Many of the entries are comprised of links to stories on lobbying, but some entries also focus on a question related to nonprofit and foundation lobbying. Updated daily. |
| Nonprofit Law Podcast: |
Tim Mooney, formerly of Alliance for Justice and Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, hosts a weekly podcast on legal aspects in the nonprofit sector. Several of the posts focus on lobbying and on political activities. |
| Political Activity Law: |
Eric Brown, a political activity law practitioner, focuses on the topics of lobbying, election law and campaign activities. Blog entries discuss news on lobbying regulations and campaign finance issues at the federal and state levels. Updated daily. |
| Capital Eye: |
The Center for Reponsive Politics publishes its newsletters on this page. The Capital Eye includes articles which looks into the role of money in politics. Previous stories have included a prediciton of the Final Four of the NCAA basketball tournament based on the amount each school in the Sweet Sixteen spent on lobbying, a look into the telecommunications industry and how its lobbyists may have potential influence on wiretapping and the basics of a campaign compliance fund. The newsletters are generally written weekly. |
| DailyKos: |
The front page of DailyKos is centered more on elections and the Democratic Party. However, this tag contains news related to lobbying, although the writers are quite critical of lobbying’s role in the political process. The blog is updated sporadically. |
| The Heritage Policy Weblog: |
The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, looks at all types of policy and makes its opinions and criticisms of policy known. The blog is updated daily, with links to news articles. Earmarks and “pork spending” are also a big topic. |
| National Center Blog: |
Amy Ridenour of the National Center for Public Policy Research, a conservative think tank, discusses a broad range of legislative issues, some of it focusing on lobbying and earmarks. Updated frequently. |
| Capitol Journal: |
Originally started as a reaction blog to the Washington Post’s series on founder Gerald Cassidy, this policy blog written by the staff of Cassidy and Associates, one of DC’s biggest lobbying firms, has morphed within the past few months to focus on political news and legislative issues. Updated fairly infrequently. |
| Common Blog: |
Common Cause, a watchdog group, covers many different aspects of money’s involvement in politics, including lobbying. There is also a section specifically on ethics, yet no entries have been tagged with this subject since October. The main blog site, however, is updated daily. |

| Campaign Legal Center: |
The CLC’s blog focuses on lobbying and ethics reform as well as issues related to campaign finance. Updated daily. |
| Law and Ethics Online: |
Written by the staff of law firm Perkins Coie, this blog focuses on the current ethics that have arisen in the lobbying world, and the impact of the Honest Leadership and Open Government Act on a lobbyist’s job. This site requires registration to read full articles. While there were several entries posted to the site when it was launched in January, there have been no updates made to it since February. |
| Public Action Campaign Fund: |
Although the main focus of the blog is on campaign finance, this also touches on ethics and campaign contributions as they relates to lobbying. Updated a couple of times a day. |
| Sun Spots: |
| Under the Influence: |
The Sunlight Foundation’s Ellen Miller and Bill Allison write for these respective blogs. Allison’s Under the Influence blog takes an in-depth look at the impact of campaign contributions and earmarks on the political process. Miller’s Sun Spots focuses on increasing transparency in the workings of government. Sun Spots is updated daily, while Under the Influence is updated several times a week. |
| Lobbying and Ethics Reform Blog: |
Written by the staff of OMB Watch, this blog tracks news on HLOGA and any other reforms that impact the lobbying community. Updated on a sporadic basis. |
| LegiStorm Blog: |
LegiStorm, an organization working to make Congress more transparent, launched a blog in April 2008 to provide more information on congressional staff salaries and trips taken by staffers and Members. So far, the blog has been updated several times a week. |
| POGO Blog: |
The Project on Government Oversight exposes corruption and ethics violations in the different branches of government. There is a tag for lobbying, but nothing has been placed in that category since July. The blog is generally updated daily. |
| Citizens (Blogging) for Ethics and Responsibility in Washington: |
CREW focuses on promoting ethical behavior for government officials and the private sector individuals who deal with them. The blog looks at ethics, earmarks, and the politics behind lobbying. Updated several times a day. |
| SOX First: |
Although the Sarbanes-Oxley Act does not relate directly to lobbying, many of the entries on this blog discuss ethics and lobbying as they relate to the corporate world. Because corporate compliance is not only a necessity for Sarbanes-Oxley, but is also now one for HLOGA, expect future entries to focus on the latter law’s influence. Updated several times a day. |

Public Citizen’s blog discusses the role of money in politics. Although many of the blogs revolve around the role of money in elections, there are also several entries pertaining to lobbying and ethics. Updated daily. |

For Google’s take on some of the legislative issues impacting the company, where better to go than to its own counsel? Members of Google’s policy team comment on telecom policies and has been posting its discussions with the presidential candidates who visit its California headquarters. Updated regularly. |

Verizon’s staff discusses broadband and other telecom issues in its blog. While the entries are informative, many of them also serve as PR for the company. Updated on a regular basis. |

Cisco’s blog focuses on broadband and technological innovations. Many of its entries also look at the implications of policy changes to the public. Updated weekly. |

463 Communications hosts this blog focusing on technology and telecom policy nationally and globally. Entries range from copyright issues to net neutrality, with a little humor thrown in. Updated daily. |
| Riedel Communications |
Bunnie Riedel of Riedel Communications shares her thoughts on proposed bills and regulations in the telecom field and comments on various policies in place throughout the country. Updated monthly. |
