CD/Transcript Conference Recordings
This session examines the special compliance issues surrounding NFPs' issue advocacy, lobbying, campaign and other political activities, including the IRS rules that must be obeyed to maintain tax-exempt status and avoid failure to file penalties; the HLOGA requirements that must be met to avoid disastrous publicity, $200,000 fines and up to five years in jail; and FEC reporting requirements (including the amended Form 1 and new HLOGA bundling rules for association PACs).

Order today to learn how to:
  • Disclose the right information in conjunction with the reporting required by HLOGA, the FEC and the IRS
  • Manage conflicting reporting requirements without exposing yourself to non-compliance
  • Execute the right compliance system and external audit preparation to protect yourself from problems involving HLOGA or the new IRS Form 990
  • Understand how the IRS and the FEC treat certain political activities — including those by senior staff, volunteers, board members — as well as campaign contributions and voter-related activities
  • Avoid common pitfalls in each of these areas
  • Report donor names and politically active board members and volunteers
  • Comply with what types of events you may sponsor or gifts you may give depending on your tax structure, and what records are required
